Vizsla, Bracebridge ON area

UPDATE: OAKLEY HAS BEEN LOCATED AND HAS RETURNED HOME TO HER OWNERS! Please help find "Oakley". Oakley, a 1.5 year old female, spayed Vizsla, bolted from the fireworks at a cottage in Bracebridge Ontario near Beaumont Road, Saturday March 18, 2017. She was last seen near Tree Tops Bed and Breakfast, 1015 Melandaw Lane, Bracebridge, Ontario off Beaumont Road near the lake on Saturday March 18th at midnight. She was wearing a red bandanna but no tags but she is microchipped. Contact: Rob Elliott 416-528-0076. Rob is not a VSO member. Changes to Toronto's pet bylaw

On January 31, 2017, the Council of the City of Toronto (Ontario, Canada) added new subsections to Bylaw 102-2017 "To establish new provisions with respect to the protection of persons and animals from dangerous dogs" which took effect March 1. The new subsections include a ban on using choke collars, choke chains, pronged collars, or any similar device forms. The city has also newly imposed a 1 hour limit for leaving a tethered dog unsupervised as well as a provision that, “No person shall allow an animal to remain outdoors during extreme weather unless the animal has access to an enclosure that will adequately protect the animal from the elements.” This latter provision means neighbours

Last Meeting of Current BOD

The 2015-2017 Board of Directors held its last meeting on March 14. The term for this board ends March 31 and the new board takes office on April 1st, 2017. Our 2017 Specialty Show takes place this year on June 4, 2017 in Caledonia, ON.

New BOD

I’d like to introduce and welcome our new Directors who will assume office on April 1 (no, it’s no joke!).
