Board of Directors 2019 - 2020 and Other Volunteers

Meet the hard-working and dedicated people who currently make up our elected and appointed positions.

Historical Record of Boards from 2005 - 2017

Our Executive

President, Sylvia Dorosh

Sylvia and her husband acquired their first Vizsla in 1978 when there were very few breeders listed in Canada and have been hooked since.  Sylvia has been a continuous VSO member since the 80’s, a founding member (1992) of Vizsla Canada Inc., a member of both the Canadian Kennel Club and Vizsla Club of America since 1991, and a contributor to Dogs in Canada magazine [now defunct] for about 5 years.  She has also been VSO Editor since 2009 and President since 2015.  After producing 10 wonderful Vizsla litters under the Varazs prefix, her last bundles of puppy joy were born in 2011.  Her current two Vizslas – 12.5 year old Tyro and Diva (10.5 yr.) - are ones she bred. In addition to volunteering for many tasks in the VSO, Sylvia is also president of a Toronto wine club, and a docent and gallery guide at a musical instrument museum.

VP, Caroline Davis

Caroline was appointed VP in February 2019.  This is her second term on the Board and as Obi Field Award Administrator. Last term she also served on the Breeders’ Working Group.  Caroline was introduced to my first Vizsla in 2005 and her life has been an ongoing adventure ever since.  She is now retired and has settled with her husband and 2 dogs.  She's done volunteer work for a non-profit organization in the past (many different positions for community care), office management work including accounting, and have web management skills.  Caroline & her husband own a piece of property with over 50 acres.  She hunts with her dogs and LOVES this breed.

Treasurer - Marcia McNabb

This is Marcia's 3rd term on the Board as Treasurer after joining the VSO in 2015.  In addition to “keeping the books”, she has actively supported and assisted the club at field tests and Fun Day.  By profession, she is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Accountant (CA) and has worked for the last 10 years as VP Finance for Luminato, a not-for-profit arts festival in Toronto.  She has been owned and loved by four Vizslas since 2005.  Currently she and her husband share their home with Willa and Willa's puppy Libby, born in 2018.

Secretary - Lynda Friendly

Lynda has been a proud member of the VSO since 2009, the year her precious Vizsla, “Sherman”, came into her life.  Since then, she has attended most Annual General Meetings and Fun Days.  She has held senior executive positions at Cineplex Odeon Corporation, Tourism Toronto (Chairman of the Board), The Design Exchange (President and CEO), and other corporations and sits on several boards.  This is her 3rd term in office on the Board and she's delighted to serve the club again.

Our Directors

Tracey Comeau - Director

My professional experience is healthcare administration at the CEO level. I am currently employed in the Not-For-Profit sector and I have experience with Boards, networking and government agencies.  Personally, I have had the good fortune of loving six Vizslas over the past 27 years and am currently a member in good standing with the VSO.  This is my first term serving as Director for the VSO.

David Fansolato - Director

I became acquainted with the Breed in 2006 with our introduction to our first Vizsla.  My wife who is also a VSO member and I are currently ruled by two.  I was recently introduced to the Conformation/Show ring and I am having a great time showing our dogs. I’m an Industrial Electrician by trade but work mostly in Design/Innovation/Repair of Robotic and Industrial Automation.  It’s an honour to be involved with this organization.

Rob Feasby - Director

Vizslas came into my life thanks to my oldest daughter and wife in 2015 while searching for a family pet that would be an active member in our family of 5. After meeting our first ever Vizsla we all fell in love with the breed and picked up our Chester on Canada Day weekend of 2016. We became members of the VSO later that year.  We are interested in all things this wonderful breed is capable of.  When not at work as a construction site superintendent I enjoy spending time doing all things outdoors with family and friends.
